Denis Cutter

Denis Cutter was born in Fresno, California in 1971. He joined the U.S. Army as soon as he could and shipped off for basic training at Ft Knox, Kentucky to become a tanker at 17. His first duty assignment was 2nd BN 72nd AR at Camp Kasey, Korea where he served on the venerable M60A3 tank. The end of his time in Korea coincided with the end of service for the M60A3s. He then returned to Ft. Knox to be retrained on the M1 Abrams and was assigned to the 1st Infantry Division at Ft. Riley, Kansas. In 1991 he deployed to Saudi Arabia with the 2nd BN 34th AR as part of Operation Desert Shield. When the missions changed to Operation Desert Storm, TF 2/34 formed the tip of the spear for VII Corp’s movement through Iraq into Kuwait. Denis continued his military service until 1996. After leaving the military he worked in construction and eventually became a civil designer. He lived in Alaska for 20 years where he met his wife. Denis left Alaska in 2012 to take a position with a ground engineering firm in Redmond, WA. He lives in Duvall where he enjoys a small hobby farm with his wife and two children.
